The MCAP Specialist comes to you when you request an on-site visit
and compliance review. The review results in a letter which discusses
any non-compliance issues found, potential corrective measures and
any waste reduction opportunities identified.
No. The regulatory programs and the MCAP are run entirely independently
of one another. The compliance review is performed in confidence and
will not be shared with the regulatory programs.
Nothing, but it has the potential to save you money. The program
is fully funded by the Department of Environmental Conservation to
assist municipalities.
If the non-compliance issue does not "threaten or cause
substantial actual harm to public health or the environment",
the regulatory program will not be notified. Violations will be discussed
in a letter from the MCAP sent solely to the municipality.
