Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E)
On June 24, 1998, the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) signed a landmark agreement to advance pollution prevention efforts in our nation's health care facilities. From this agreement came Hospitals for a Healthy Environment (H2E), a voluntary program for facilities committed to reducing the impact of their operations on the environment. The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and H2E are working together to expand the nationwide initiative to include hospitals and other health care facilities in the state of Vermont.
